Project Sunshine: Rainy’s Visit at Baan Huay Kub Kab

Miss Rainy, Founder of Project Sunshine, made a visit to a hill tribe village of Red Lahu of Baan Pa Deang on 29 May. After a 2 hour trek up the mountain, she arrived at the village with a load of food and gifts she brought for the children in the village.

The Project Sunshine is one of Himmapaan Foundation’s projects that aims at raising funds to pay for 50 months’ salary (US$ 150 per month) of a teacher at the Red Lahu community school in Baan Huay Kub Kab, northern Thailand (The school has about 31 children). The Project has raised 1.5 millions Baht (about 46,000 $USD) so far.

At Ban Pa Deang School, Rainy reconnected with some children whom she met on her last visit at the village. The gifts she has brought for the children were very meaningful for them since they did not celebrate Children’s Day early this year due to lack of fund.  The children and the teachers  also enjoyed a lunch of hamburgers, French fries, hot dogs, ice cream and cake prepared by staff of Lisu Lodge.
The kids also performed some dance shows for Rainy and her party and sang “Happy Birthday” song for her.
