nurseryDonation Report on Forest Restoration Project

Gebeco and Travel Indochina donated 7,000 USD to support the Mae Tang Forest Restoration Project in Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Mai.

Gebeco, one of the leading travel operators for study and general group tours in German speaking countries, gave 5,000 USD to help the construction of a tree nursery and the visitor centre. The nursery is an essential part of the forest restoration process since it provides ideal conditions for the growth of tree seedlings. The visitor centre, which is located nearby, will serve as a place to educate people about trees in northern Thailand and the forest restoration project.

Another 2,000 USD is donated by Travel Indochina, an Australian travel agency specialising in small group journeys to Asia, in support of various activities at the forest restoration sites such as fertilisation, plant monitoring, weeding, firebreak construction and site maintenance.
